National Institute of Technical Teachers Training (Chandigarh): 16th-20th November 2015
The need of technology for any work in today's world has become inevitable. As such, to keep pace with the changes in the technology has become a challenge for each one of us. The academics in India, of late, have realized that there exists a gap between what is taught in the institutions and what is required in the industry. This gap can be filled by the adoption of technology in the curriculum. With this perspective, various institutions at National level have initiated short programs to train their faculty in various subjects of emerging technologies of their domain.
One of such training program was conducted for the first time at NITTTR Chandigarh (An institution dedicated to training Faculty of Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics) for 26 Faculty of Civil Engineering who are also undergoing M.Tech in Construction Technology and Management. The training program was on Bentley STAAD.Pro and STAAD Foundation. The training program was conducted by Alerion Technologies, Chandigarh in association with Tickoo Institute of Emerging Technologies, Gurgaon.
The main highlight of the program was the G+3 Residential Building project that the students were supposed to create in Bentley STAAD.Pro and then analyze and design it for Seisimic and Wind conditions. The program was quite successful and all students submitted the report and design at the end of the session. The Director of NITTTR congratulated the team of TIET and Alerion for making this program a grand success. In response to the success of this program, NITTTR has shown interest in organizing a similar program on BIM Technologies in the coming days.
